Andes Teletransporter Liberates Alkies from Obligations

To protect the relationships of men who’d rather drink themselves into a stupor than go to dinner with their girlfriends’ parents (...and who wouldn’t?), Saatchi & Saatchi/Buenos Aires had a bright idea for Andes Beer:

Why lie when you can teleport?

All right, the technology’s not there yet, but that’s just details to a crowd that’s truly creative (or truly determined). So Andes debuted the Teletransporter, a retro-futuristic phone booth-looking thing that swathes you in complete silence but lets you select from a number of ambient noises — background sounds for the dentist, the doctor, whatever — that’ll enable you to lie to your significant other about your actual whereabouts.

Bars and clubs all over Mendoza were outfitted with Teletransporters, and men on their phones were videotaped using them in real-time — pretending to be at karate class, taking care of babies, in traffic, in the toilet — the better to prove that this invention was a success.

The Andes result: "More happy men at bars, less broken-up couples."

This is ridiculous fall-on-your-face awesome, but gotta say: if we ever discover our dude left us stranded at a wedding or a dinner date so he could drink with his muchachos, we’d gut his silly arse and use the skin for a rug. Shortly after congratulating him for his cleverness.

Who’da thunk you could morph a pretty good Bud Light :30 into a f***tastic onsite promotion? Nice! Favorite line? "At the Bar Mitzvah. Yes, I did tell you."

This is so good! That’s how commercials are meant to be. Funny and to the point. Even though one would amost forget that the commercial is about a beer. Those teletransporters could really be a succes as they are, at least, soundproof. So in a crowded disco you can understand what the other is saying.
