Danish Office of Tourism : A Daring Buzz

Karen, a young Danish woman, launched a very particular search on YouTube. Her eyes looking at the camera and at her little blond baby at the same time, she timidly shares her story.

A year and a half ago, she met a man and got down to business very rapidly after a rowdy party. The next day, the stranger disappeared, but not without leaving her a souvenir of their night together.

Nine months later, the flesh and bone souvenir was born! The little boy is named August, and she wishes to find his father. Her call did not go unnoticed, and YouTubers announced a viral campaign.

Today, we know that the Danish Office of Tourism is at the origin of this viral video. The suspense didn’t last long, as the buzz of the video was taking a dangerous path. Sevaral associations were offended by the image of libertine women that the Danish Office of Tourism was giving them.

The video is no longer available on YouTube, but can still be watched on the Monsier buzz website. However, Denmark has made itself noticed this month... the buzz worked!

If the campaign was that good the person responsible for it at Visit Damark wouldn’t quit her job yesterday as an affect of that ridiculous campaign.

Seems like a stupid way of getting attention and creating a buzz.
