Disneyland "Orders" A Sponsored Book
The French book "Neuf auteurs au pays de Mickey" ("Nine authors in Mickey’s country") is a special book. This is not due to its content, but because of how it was created. For this book, 9 French popular authors wrote pieces on the theme of Disneyland to be published in one single book.

These 9 authors were invited to spend a weekend at Disneyland by the publisher, making this a sponsored book. As Capucine Cousin says on her blog, it is probably the first time that a book has basically been ordered to be written by a brand. We have not yet read the book and are for the moment unable to judge it by its literary content, but we must admit that this was well played by Disney.
This reminds us of the book "One Week At The Airport" by Alain de Botton. The writer spent a week in Heathrow, the British airport (with the consent of the BAA of course) and wrote a book based on his experience. In this case, we do not know if it was the author or the BAA that took the initiative for the creation of the book.
Are sponsored literary works becoming the new trend?
