Download or win the latest book by Bzzagent’s CEO for free

Dave Balter, a friend of mine and the CEO of BzzAgent, one of the leading word of mouth marketing platforms in the USA, is about to publish his new book ""The Word of Mouth Manual". Instead of publishing his book in a traditional way, Dave decided to launch an interesting WOM marketing campaign. 20 top marketing websites have been selected to offer their readers a free downloadable PDF version of the book. Culture-buzz.com is one of them, and we now have the privilege to offer you a chance to read Dave’s book by downloading it here:

Shortly after June 16th, Dave will launch the second step of the action: he will alert the 420,000 BzzAgents about his book, how it is being distributed - and where they can get their free copies.

Of course you are then all invited to share your feedback about the book with us, your friends and your colleagues. You can even try persuading them to buy the print version on Amazon for $45 (a one-of-a-kind work of art by Seth B. Minkin comes with every copy).

"The Word of Mouth Manual: Volume II" is split into three enlightening, funny sections, all working together to prove that WOM is one of the most powerful marketing mediums on the planet. Check them out:

- Part I: What You Should Know (in Theory) takes a look at what’s new with word of mouth
- Part II: What You Probably Know Already (Unless You Don’t) answers the questions, doubts and criticisms from organized word of mouth’s early formation
- Part III: What You Must Know (in Practice) discusses the necessities of practicing this communications phenomenon

Dave’s book is full of facts, stories and insights about word of mouth and the industry that’s been built around it. His insider perspective helps show that while WOM may be a medium that can’t be forced, fabricated or created, it certainly can be managed, understood and enjoyed by all!

If you want to learn more about the whole project you should read the "How the Book Publishing Industry Should Reinvent Itself", an article from Harvard Business Publishing.

PS: Vanksen|Culture-Buzz is offering its readers 5 print copies of the book... Just post a link to the viral video you consider to be the best in the comments of this article. The 5 comments coming up with the best unknown viral campaign we may have missed will be contacted by e-mail. They will each receive a printed copy of the book by Dave Balter...

I really liked this one:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CnBKs9BX0o

It’s a viral for the Flemish game show "Blokken", a mix of Tetris and a quiz show. The translation of the baseline in the viral is: "Life sucks without blocks". It got a lot of buzz from people who loved it, and from people who hated it because they made kids cry.

I’m a big fan of Dave Balter and BzzAgent. It’s a Brilliant idea, well executed.

In fact Dave is our podcast guest this month on Personal Brilliance - Up Close and Practical. A new episode each week this month.

Check out Dave’s detailed explanation of how it all works.

This isn’t exactly what you would call an "unknown viral" – let’s face it, if it was unknown, it wouldn’t be a great viral – but I believe it was the best viral lately. I’m talking about Weezer’s new single, "Porks and Beans", where they made a video with all the viral stars, such as the Chocolate Rain kid, afro ninja, miss teen USA, numa numa kid... Brilliant idea, great execution! The result? Over 7 million views on Youtube, and counting...

I’m a BzzAgent, and I’m working through the downloaded expert. I’m discovering that word of mouth is sneaky, but in a good way. There are a lot of twists and turns I would not have thought of. The concept seems simple on the surface, but it’s not. I never knew that the reason for the top 40 was the amount of songs people could retain. And just for the record, I still hate Crocs.

After reading Dave Balter’s book, I believe I have experienced many of the benefits of word of mouth. I am wondering what he is up to. I am a Bzz Agent and believe in the power of Bzzing. Which is why I wonder about the monkey. I would have liked to see a Bee instead.

Don’t let this book slip past you folks. As a Bzz Agent, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a copy so I swiped one from a friend. Now I have to buy her a replacement copy because I started making notes in the margins...LOL Warning, you may not be able to put this book down once you start reading it.

I am a volunteer BzzAgent. Most BzzAgent’s are completely transparent and we are proud of it! I loved the manual. I wouldn’t have purchased it but I loved every word. Anything that people talk about is considered word of mouth, whether it’s good, bad, or indifferent. The world would be a totally different place without Word of Mouth.
