Emarketer: Blogs in America
Emarketer, the website specialized in market surveys and trends on the internet, has recently published (you actually have to pay 650 dollars to download the entire document) a survey about the current situation of the US-American blogosphere and predictions for this communications method in 2012.
The number of individuals reading, creating and maintaining a blog keeps rising. According to eMarketer, in 2012 more than 145 million people will read a blog at least once a month. Furthermore, the number of bloggers will rise from 22.6 million to 34.7 million by 2012.
Advertising and blogs make a nice couple, and US blogs are a good example to sustain this argument. In 2007 advertisements on blogs generated revenues in the realm of 283 million dollars! This amount is said to reach 764 million by 2012. This is something to keep in mind, especially for those who are looking for new ways to spread messages via the blogosphere (great financial opportunity lies there within).
The entire survey ‘The Blogosphere: A Mass Movement from Grass Roots’ is available online here.
