Lamato Network—The Real Social Network

Posted on July 3, 2008

Are you one of those people that have an account with every online social network imaginable? You know what I’m talking about—Facebook, MySpace, Hi5, Bebo, and the list goes on. If you are, then what are you waiting for—why not create an account with Lamato, the real social, social network now? You’re only a few clicks away!

I’m sure you’ve already clicked on the link above…but, for those of you who actually read articles straight through to the end, I’ll just tell you now that it’s a complete farce, a very successful farce that makes for very original advertising by taking advantage of the rise of social networks. The Canadian brand Mott´s Clamato created a mini social site that promises to give you friends in flesh and bone, but when you arrive at the site, see the site presentation, and then try to create an account, the site reveals its true intention and directs you to the brand’s official site where you might just find some good ideas about how to make friends in real life. Loners and social network enthusiasts will likely be annoyed.

I learned the hard way many many moons ago to read over a test before starting to answer the questions. It took me forever to finish that test. And to think the last essay question was "answer only the #2 question".
