Mini Clubman Flies Bzzz
After the successful launch of the Mini Clubman, a longer version of the mythical classic Mini, the carmaker has released a viral video that is worthy of being mentioned on Culture-Buzz.
As we all know, flies have that annoying habit of smashing against our car grilles and windshields. Well, now the creative minds behind the commercial for the new Mini model have decided to make these little buggers saints.
The commercial is very Tim Burton and stars a group of flies that have joined together to say goodbye to one of their own. The burial carries on as one might expect until the master of ceremonies gets all fired up: what we have here is "a legendary death, the death of a hero, a death that is bigger than life."
Of course, the flies speak to each other in bzzz...but I’ll let you check it out for yourselves so that you can see if what you’ve imagined by now is in any way similar to the real thing.
In this commercial (well at the end at least) the fun environment, the first rate humor and the rock ’n roll music are really fly and are sure to be a hit with this new little car’s target audience. As for the commercial’s message: "the other Mini," or in other words "for Men," leaves the privilege of the classic Mini to women, a privilege they have had from the very beginning.
This campaign, which stresses the fun and masculine side of the Clubman and the difference between it and the classic Mini, follows in the footsteps of previous operations. Just take a look at one of the huge billboards that showed up a few weeks ago in New Zealand:
