Social Media: A Miracle Solution?

Today, we show you an excellent presentation by Tara Hunt, found on mediassociaux.com: "Your social media strategy won’t save you". Her main argument: social media is not a miracle solution.

As Grégory Pouy emphasizes on his blog, social networks can be pertinent tools when they are used in a comprehensive and targeted communication strategy. He also explains that if a company decides to use social networks, it needs to somewhat modify its approach and to put the client in the center of it all.

A few key points from the presentation:

- Social networks are not a strategy, but communication tools.

- The most important is to put the clients in the center of the communication strategy.

- Social media gave power to consumers by allowing them to exchange ideas and have their opinion heard: it is a great opportunity for companies!

- Marketers can integrate social networks into a complete strategy to help consumers to make relevant purchase decisions.

I agree with this however lots of people are trying to use social media as an advertising outlet. It is probably a piece of the puzzle in the whole promotion thing.
