Surprising communication (Canada)

Quebec’s foundation for the visually impaired Fondation des aveugles du Québec, ’Touché Phd’, came up with a new campaign that was aired to viewers on ’Sport 30’ on the RDS broadcasting station. The surprising ad presents the viewer with a reality check to life while visually impaired (This was mounted in cooperation with the Sid Lee agency).

In the middle of a hockey match the picture suddenly switches to black, and remained so for a few seconds. Viewers probably under the impression that some kind of technical problem had occurred, where probably stunned when a message appeared on the screen: “Ce n’est pas un problème technique. C’est notre réalité.” (“This is not a technical problem. This is our reality.”).


Thanks to the power of the images (or lack thereof), viewers are able to conceptualize life in the dark, if only for a few seconds.
