ZDF blogs with Vanksen (Germany)
On January 4th this year, the German television network ZDF joined the world of the web 2.0. They did so via the creation of an internal blog platform, and the launch of the very first German blog dedicated to the topic of the US presidential elections. This platform was created by the German office of the Vanksen.

The objective of the ZDF was to establish a platform that allows for the creation and management of a large number of event blogs, the first of which is dedicated to the presidential elections in the United States.
By opting for a 2.0 approach, ZDF proves its desire to be closer to its viewers. The TV network is adapting to the times and utilizing new technologies in the best possible way; fulfilling its mission to objectively inform the German public rapidly and most of all collaboratively. This evolution can only be welcomed, and will surely serve as an inspiration for other German TV stations/networks.
Kai Ravesloot, Art Director of the German office for the Vanksen|Culture-Buzz agency, chose the ’MovableType’ technology in order to easily launch several blogs while at the same time maintaining the same flexible page structure. Vanksen|Culture-Buzz has already worked with MovableType for the ArcelorMittal WebTV, blog that was created to document last year’s merger between Arcelor and Mittal. This project was a huge success internally and externally: the second season has just been launched!
