Apple and the Banner War - Act III

 

IT is all the rage, nowadays. If you thought the world would continue as normal after the latest Microsoft commercial with Seinfeld daydreaming about a delicious PC, think again.

Fortunately for the general public (and Apple fans), or unfortunately for Microsoft, the Cupertino company is fighting back with a new double banner campaign.

After two anti-Vista campaigns (one in November 2007, followed by a second in January 2008), what we have here is the final addition, thereby completing the Mac trilogy.

As in the first two campaigns, Mac and PC occupy their own personal corner of the screen. PC, distraught over Mac’s success, pulls his "Stop Switching to Mac!" article onto his space.

Just take a look:

Clearly, Apple is keeping an eagle eye on Microsoft. The commercial is so popular that it is spreading through the Web at the speed of light and reached important American websites with large audiences (like Time.com) only a few hours before Steve Job’s big keynote address.

The ball is now in Bill Gates’ and Jerry Seinfeld’s court. It will be interesting to see how they respond...
