CPB Shred School – Guitar Tutorials

Posted on January 5, 2009

Each year at Crispin, Porter & Bogusky, the holidays are always celebrated a little bit differently! This year was no different and the communications agency has created an innovative website far from what one would expect at a time when the rest of us were wrapping up our years. Crispin sent out 900 guitars to its offices around the world and gave its employees the chance to let their imaginations and musical spirits run free. The aim of all this was to create a fast and easy tutorial website for guitar playing. The staff at Crispin joined in on the effort to help teach us how to play some easy arias in order to impress our friends and get carried away at New Year’s Eve.

The employees offer us a varied repertoire of songs on the tutorial website. It’s up to us to pick the right one depending on who we want to impress with our new skills. At the tutorial website, we can find all sorts of different kinds of music, from slow (Scorpions) to Rocky’s Survivors, to heavy metal. What a great selection for learning to play the guitar!
A prime example: Alex Bogusky’s “casual” lesson. Alex tries to break down the basics of guitar playing and teaches us the basics. Check out the introduction here:

This is a great way to see each person’s appreciation for music and tutoring. This can help bring out hidden talents among the employees and also helps potential clients get to know the staff at the agency a bit better, and through a creative looking glass.

Thanks CPB! The best present ever...one thing though. How come Alex gets the professional production quality video with studio time, and I have to look at everyone else’s bedrooms at home? Seriously...all or nothing people, all or nothing! J/K
