Cadbury’s Dancing Eyebrows

While the Swiss, Belgians, and Germans may be more well-known for their chocolate than the British, the British are by no means strangers to the chocolate industry. In fact, with its history dating back to the 1800s and its ties to the royal family, Cadbury is the quintessential British chocolate. In the US, Hershey Foods holds the sole license to manufacture Cadbury chocolates.

For most of us, Cadbury is synonymous with Easter thanks to the Easter Cadbury Crème Egg campaigns we’ve become accustomed to. (For those of you who have never been inside a London Tube station, I hate to break it to you…but you can eat Cadbury Crème Eggs anytime of the year in the UK.) Cadbury has also become known for its strange advertising campaigns. It often produces spots that make us go “huh?” And its most recent one, starring two kids’ dancing eyebrows, is no different. Check it out:

Just to refresh you on the Cadbury advertising line, here’s another classic Cadbury ad, with a drumming Gorilla:

See what we mean about bizarre marketing campaigns? Hey, if it works, it works. I for one am a fan of the fact that the campaigns don’t go for the easy laugh, sex, or bloodshed! No, I don’t see the connection between the ads and the product, but this certainly isn’t the first time.
