Denver Water: Saving the Environment One Shopper at a Time
Water, as we all know, is vital to our survival but becoming increasingly unavailable. Unfortunately, it seems that sometimes these realities go in one ear and out the other. Denver Water, the public body in charge of the supply and conservation of Denver’s water resources knows this, and in order to make sure that their message gets across, they asked Sukle Advertising and Design, one of the most creative advertising agencies in the region, for help. In fact, this campaign has been going on a for a few years, but each year Sukle comes out with even better ideas!

This campaign, whose baseline is “Keep our Rivers flowing, use only what you need,” converts the conveyor belts at grocery store checkout lanes into flowing rivers. Then, to really get the message across, the bars that customers use to separate purchases bear the campaign’s slogan. This is an idea that gets the message across and will stick in the minds of grocery store shoppers.
Now that you can see the entire conveyor belt, imagine how the river flows when the conveyor belt is turned on. It’s really realistic, isn’t it?
This campaign reminds me of a DHL Hong Kong campaign (Culture Buzz article here) which was recently awarded the JCDecaux Pearl & Dean and MTR advertisement award.

I guess we’re seeing the beginning of a new trend in the world of Ambient Marketing.
