Get Inside IKEA’s Closets

The new website to promote IKEA closets is wacky, fun and original. Truth be told, it is a bit difficult to navigate. Why? Well for starters, the site is only available in Swedish (I know, while learning Swedish would be nice, you haven’t got the time right now, right?). Also, your patience just might run out before the site finishes loading.

The website introduces us to the owners of each of the 5 available closets. Each character is very different and each closet matches a different lifestyle and is accompanied by a different kind of music. An ice-skater, two Japanese businessmen, and a trio of Lucha Libre fighters (they’re my favorite since I’m a Lucha Libre fan) are among the closet characters.

Once the site finally opens, you can choose which of the 5 closets you’d like to see and then you can bring the characters to life with the help of your mouse (it doesn’t take very long, I promise). Also, using the site’s excellent music selection, you can choose the song the characters dance to.

I’m sure there are many more interactive possibilities with the site and its characters, but…no hablo IKEA, I mean Swedish, excusez moi.

Being organized does not have to be dull. Closets can be a work of art. Just like the pictures that you posted.
