HP Toyrama in Asia and Pacific

For their latest viral campaign in Asia and Pacific called Toyrama, HP have decided to call on the world of toys to promote their new xw9400 Workstation, a computer designed especially for professionals.

Arc Worldwide Singapore, the agency in charge of the campaign, wanted to directly address their target (professional animators) and had the idea to stage several of the toys created by the artist Peter Fowler on a very graphical flash site called Toyrama.

On the website you have the possibility to create your own animated film. You can choose the title, a backdrop, the characters and their movements as well as create the text which will then be displayed in speech bubbles. Afterwards you can submit your creation to the gallery and take part in a competition. The creator of the best film will win a trip to DreamWorks’ animation studios in the United States. You can also download goodies, for example wallpapers featuring the xw9400 Workstation and the Toys, tell a friend or read the product description.

HP proves once again their knack for artistic viral marketing. One might remember the videos "The computer is personal again" featuring stars such as the rapper Jay-Z, the snowboarder Shaun White or the director Michel Gondry (see Culture-Buzz article).
