Mac vs. PC: Robowar

We are always anxious to see the newest video in the Mac vs. PC war in order to dissect it in detail. We hope the Mac vs. PC advertising war never ends! We should remember, however, that the spirit of the Mac vs. PC war can live on in consumers and that videos need not be brand creations.

Case in point: Dan Chianelli and Nick Greenlee, part of Total Interactive, have quenched our thirst with their take on the competition. They show us what would happen if Macs and PCs fought a robowar. It turns out that both robot teams would be quite strong, but that ultimately the Macs have cooler tricks, greater regenerating powers, and wouldn’t be held up by mid-battle updates.

If you get past the first minute of bad acting and weak dialogue, you are in for a real treat. The 5 minute HD video won Best Compositing Artimation ‘08 and uses motion capture animation, HDRI, loads of tracking, and 3D compositing. The goal of the creators was to create something that “looked good, but could also entertain the audience.” Mission accomplished:
