Pepsi’s iPhone Application Makes A Splash
At Pepsi headquarters, the spokespeople are attempting to efface the controversy around the company’s iPhone application tied to the "Amp up before you score" campaign. The name of this application is a nod to both the expression "to amp up" and AMP Energy, the energy drink that belongs to Pepsi.

We remember the recent PUMA Index application, but today Pepsi is even more clearly addressing men as the application allows them to share information on the taste and habits of women with their male friends! More exactly, the application is a road map meant to help to be able to seduce most or all women, as there are 24 different profiles of women. But that’s not all! Besides for this collaborative chase, the user can then add these women - their names, the date of the seduction, and comments - to their list of conquests, which can be shared on sites like Facebook and Twitter.
The only problem is that women also have iPhones and very few them are amused by this application. However, it is classified by Apple in the entertainment category—at Apple they love a good laugh!
In response to the criticism, the Amp Twitter page explains that "the application wanted to show the humorous lengths guys go 2 pick up women". Pepsi finally apologized on their site: "We apologize if it’s in bad taste and appreciate your feedback."
