The Adventures of Johnny Bunko
Admit it - some viral marketing techniques work better than others; below the two basic questions one asks themselves are:
Is the core message clearly given away immediately?
Is it interesting enough to make people want to share it with others?
For this video, my answers were YES absolutely! I could not wait to get my hands on it, and I am neither a fan of Mangas or career guides.
Although this looks like a movie trailer, The Adventures of Johnny Bunko is a career guide written by Daniel H. Pink, the New York Times bestselling author of A WHOLE NEW MIND and FREE AGENT NATION.
For those people who need to break out of their current careers, so far, reviews of this book have been quite positive.
"Outrageous, delightful . . . If the precepts in ’The Adventures of Johnny Bunko’ help some slackers open nail salons or become billionaires in some offbeat business’, that’s all to the good."
— Wall Street Journal
"Hard-hitting and informative yet bursting with optimism. . . . Pink has a knack for teaching in such an entertaining way that you’ll forget you are learning, and that makes the book an accessible, breezy read."
— Forbes
"The ideal gift for those in need of a career shakeup who claim they have no time to even think about next steps."
— NYTimes.com
We do not have to talk about the book itself, the viral marketing was effective enough to attract more than 2,500 visitors per day to its website http://www.johnnybunko.com.
