The Anatomy of Buzz Revisited

If you haven’t read Emanuel Rosen’s The Anatomy of Buzz: How to create word of mouth marketing, you missed a very interesting read. Based on 165 interviews, The Anatomy of Buzz was one of the first two books published on word of mouth marketing. Published 10 years ago when buzz marketing was just starting, Emanuel Rosen provided his readers with 7 strategies for getting consumers to spread the word, information on how to monitor and measure word-of-mouth, 8 tips to get started in buzz marketing, and much more.

Imagine how much has changed in buzz marketing over the past 10 years? Ten years in a fast-paced industry like buzz marketing is forever. Ten years ago, many of us were using AOL or Juno dial-up, Monica Lewinsky was becoming a household name, chat rooms were all the rage, and eBay was just starting out. Blogs? Brand-focused online communities? Social networking sites? Those were things of the future!

Not surprisingly, Emanuel Rosen has decided to revamp his original work. His newest release, The Anatomy of Buzz Revisted: Real-life Lessons in Word-of-Mouth Marketing, is bigger and better than the first and includes a lot of new examples and research. The book includes 24 chapters, 12 of them entirely new. Only 2 of the remaining chapters remain untouched, meaning he’s updated and changed 10 chapters that have been carried over from the original.

What sort of new information is available? Emanuel Rosen helps show readers how to get consumers to talk about brands and how to avoid negative secondhand buzz. He explains the new types of buzz, why buzz is on the rise, what makes buzz buzz, and so much more.

Emanuel Rosen provides his own wonderful, in-depth explanation of what is new in his The Anatomy of Buzz Revisited on his website and on his book’s blog.

Interested in getting the book and learning more about this fascinating industry? You’re in luck...it is only 4 days away from publication! You can buy your own copy here, at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, your independent bookstore, or 800CEO-Read.
