Who Said Marriage Had To Be A Solemn Thing?

This viral video, posted July 19th on YouTube by an Internet user (user generated content) has been viewed almost 13 million times in the past 12 days. Posted on the social network Facebook and on blogs, it is the buzz of the moment.

Even if we speak a great deal about viral video advertisements, UGC videos (user generated content) such as this one make up the bulk of the videos posted on video sharing platforms like YouTube and Dailymotion. They in fact are the reason for their success. In fact, it is not the first time that a video is made during a wedding. This video, broadcast almost 2 years ago, set the tone and inspired numerous couples:

To come back to the video we were initially discussing, what is truly interesting is that the music used is "Forever" by Chris Brown. While we all thought his career was almost toast following his assaulting his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, the video has propelled to a top seller on iTunes.

In fact, many Web users have attempted to acquire the song. To meet this demand, direct links to Amazon and iTunes were added to ensure easy access to legal downloading sites.

Commercial links of this kind rarely have much success, but in this case, there are 2 to 2 and a half more clicks than average. The bride and groom definitely did not intend this result...

In order to take advantage of the buzz, the Indigo Productions agency decided to film a parody of the video : the entrance to a divorce proceeding!

Spoofing successful videos online is widely practiced, but this agency showed itself to be the most creative and reactive.

In conclusion, it is no longer necessary to prove that UGC can become extremely viral. It depends on a few things, in this case humor and the network of friends of the creators of the video that started sending the video to their other friends. It is also impressive to note that a family video has allowed Chris Brown to make a comeback, which he may not have deserved...at least not from a wedding...
