Windows 7: A Not So Great Viral Video
Read in the Sidney Morning Herald, there was an article that flabbergasted us before even thinking about the buzz, and which, after we had finally realized the truthfulness of the fact, caused fits of uncontrollable laughter...
So, let’s share this...! Before celebrating the official launch of Windows 7 in New York, Microsoft is trying viral marketing again. The brand has recruited fans to organize parties at their houses and celebrate the new operating system. Apart from the tupperware tactics, Microsoft marketing takes on the aspect of selling from home by presenting it as participative and by inciting users to post their videos on social networks.
Microsoft did not wish to comment on the video, but did say that the public response to it was "amazing"... We have a hard time believing this, as Internet users’ comments were far from enthusiastic.
Previously, we had already spoken to you about the video starring Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld ad and Microsoft’s attempts at viral marketing. Today the conclusion is the following: technology expert does not always equate with viral expert!
