REVA: The Car of Tomorrow?
All of you know that oil is a natural resource whose supply is running out at an alarming rate, and even if there is any left, it is still important to preserve our atmosphere and ozone layer. Until now it’s always been the same old story: everyone talks about it but few do anything about it...this is what motivated the founders of the REVA company.
"There are those who talk about the environment, and those who drive a REVA."
Spawned from an American university project almost 20 years ago, the REVA became "produceable" after about 7 years of research and development to finally become one of the first brands associated with electric cars in the world! The cars are built in Bangalore, India...and soon to be manufactured in a factory run on solar power in order to minimize carbon emissions by the brand, which truly goes to show REVA’s commitment to conserving the environment.
The numbers?
A REVA saves on average (compared to a "normal" gas powered car) 2.2 tonnes of CO2, and of course emits none while driving.
It is able to travel up to 120 kilometers (before needing to be recharged) and can reach speeds up to 80 km/hr.
The cost of traveling 100 km? 1.5 Euros...a bargain when compared to the prices of gas or diesel.
The advantages?
The noise...electric cars are almost silent. Great for drivers, as well as pedestrians!
Customization: 3 base colors, optional and decorative colors, as well as an array of interesting options.
The inconveniences?
The REVA is made strictly for urban use, it cannot be taken on the highway.
The price (at least 10,900 Euros after a "Bonus ECO" deduction)
If the REVA isn’t for everyone, it will find its public. To try it is to adopt it...the company even offers to [drop the car off at your house so you can try it!
BuzzParadise recently offered a test drive to French bloggers in the streets of Paris. Here are the impressions of bloggers Osmany and Vincent on video:
Afterwards, the bloggers were able to discuss their opinions over a drink.
Why such an operation for the brand?
Operations organized with online communities (bloggers in this case) such as these offer better visibility of the brand online, but most importantly real reviews by real people "like you and me". It frees them of a purely commercial stigma. Blogger’s opinions are important and credible...the more people test and give constructive feedback, the more the company is able to improve the product!
